Most footbags come to full. You will have to make a very small opening in one of the seams and drain it until it feels right. (it should be a Sack NOT a Ball) then sew it back together.
Dirtbags do not come full leave them alone and use them as they are.
If you get a crocheted sack (like hemp) make sure to buy it big. Then slam it agains the wall, run it over with your car. Step on it regularily. They are made to be broken it this way streaching out the hemp makes it loose and also drains excess filler out. They are usually cheaper and make great hacks when broken in.
Kick close to your body with the inside of your shoe. Kicking low should also help but make sure it feels ok.
Make an effort to get your foot under the Sack.
Hacky Language
Hack = can be different things, either the footbag itself, or each player gets at least one hit, or hack as in hacking (playing)
Peg = getting hit with the hacky for whatever reason (usually in the back.)
